Introduction
Binuangan, Obando Bulacan is a coastal Barangay surrounded by rich water resources. Their primary means of livelihood is fishing which is why they are apprehensive about the construction of New Manila International Airport(Bulacan International Airport) by San Miguel Corporation. Building urban landscapes might be a sign of development but it drowns not only the area’s marine ecosystem but also the livelihood of the community. The construction of San Miguel Corporation in their coastal area brought a lot of challenges in their lives, especially in their primary source of living. Everyone is affected and the impact is already being felt.

Summary
Binuangan in the municipality of Obando, Bulacan is a coastal Barangay making a headway with its rich fishing resources due to its location. However, unsustainable coastal development practices like the construction of New Manila International Airport by San Miguel Corporation disrupted the livelihood of this community. Based on analysis and interpretation of interviews, the majority of residents in Binuangan recognize the new airport being built near their barangay as the biggest problem of their community. The construction of an airport on reclaimed land threatens the local fishing industry due to declining fish catch volume, water pollution, and depletion of fishing grounds which results in low-income salaries and unemployment. Despite these damages, the airport management failed to sufficiently compensate residents while others were forced to leave their homes to relocate.
