In Marilao, Bulacan exists a community residing beside the river. With different stories to be unraveled, problems to be addressed, and voices to be amplified.

Conclusion:

As seen in Table 1 and Figure 1, the occurrence of Flood is the most common problem present in the community because they live beside the river. This problem causes the citizens distress because they have to evacuate to higher levels frequently and leave their houses that are vulnerable to this natural disaster. 

The other problems that were mentioned, but were not frequently brought up are: Dirty surroundings, Inflation, Diseases from the flood (Leptospirosis), Electricity scarcity, their Vulnerable houses, and Clogged canals.

A respondent explained that their community was supposed to undergo relocation before the pandemic, but the virus made this project postponed.

Overall, most residents claim that it is easy to reach out to the local government in time of need, and the help that they get is in the form of relief goods.
