What is the first thing you do when you wake up? Pick up your phone then go back to sleep? Scroll up and down to social media just to kill your morning laziness? If so, you should count yourself lucky. Because it is indeed a different story in Mabolo, Malolos, Bulacan, more specifically, the street of Tuklas
An unclean and unstable water supply is the reality that the people who lives in the street of Tuklas have to face every day. Where they must wake up in the middle of the night just to fill up their empty gallons for them to have a stockpile water. Tuklas street is surrounded by different cemetery locations in both Mabulo and Caniogan. It got to the point that water lines had to be buried along side the countless graves of the cemetery. It does not help that the location of the street is within the deepest part of both barangays (Mabulo and Caniogan)

Conclusion:
Many residents of Tuklas Street of Baranggay Mabulo is suffering from insufficient water supply provided to them by PRIME Water. Despite paying above minimum water bills, the service and quality of water did not improve. According to some residents, the problem was already present years prior, and it seems like the problem would continue to linger. Some residents blame the installation of water channels, and how they are located beneath the memorial and cemetery burials. They also blamed the location for the murky water present in their water system.
Having access to clean water is a fundamental human right. The government's top priority must be to ensure that all citizens have access to clean water in order to build a healthy country and a competitive economy.
As cited in the article of UN Water’s “Human Rights to Water and Sanitation,” the right to water entitles everyone to have access to sufficient, safe, acceptable, physically accessible, and affordable water for personal and domestic use.
“‘Leaving no one behind’ is the central promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. A society can only achieve high rates of public health, gender equity, educational attainment, and economic productivity when all of its members enjoy their rights to water and sanitation. Respect for human rights must be integrated into development plans for all sectors, at all levels” they stated.
Every year, we vote for politicians that we think will serve us. We chose them because we believe they can do something – they are a ray of hope for us. But how come that this problem prolongs for periods of time? Can you just imagine that? Water is a basic need that some people enjoy abundantly, not knowing that to some, access to clean and safe water is a problem that is often overlooked and that remains unsolved.
