Conclusion:
As shown in Table 2 and Figure 2, the most common problem encountered by barangay officials is also flooding like in Survey 1 and Figure 1. Furthermore, they also encounter incidents like robbery, riding in tandems, loitering young people and brawls.
Based on our interview, the Barangay Tabing Ilog and the municipality of Marilao never failed to give their community the help they need, like relief goods and boats when flood comes. In addition, the Barangay Deputy explained their congressman has an ongoing project with the purpose of building riprap in the Marilao River to prevent flooding in the area. Also, the group of local officials in Marilao are undergoing trainings and seminars so they are aware of basic first aid and other medical responses when incidents occur.
In addition, the SK Chairperson of Tabing Ilog said that their barangay is now doing a wide road and drainage cleaning to prevent the said flooding.
Overall, the municipality, barangay officials, and LGU’s are helping the whole community of Marilao to cope with the flooding issue as well as to prevent the big damage caused by the said problem.
