1.Using your own words, compare Citizen Journ to Community journalism. 5-10 sentences only


  • Citizen Journalism in my own words means citizens covering other citizens’ concerns and issues. It includes democratic and participatory journalism and encourages citizens in gathering data and analyzing them. It also focuses on individuality. While Community Journalism focuses on a specific place, a specific demographic. It involves gathering and analyzing data from local communities. 


2. Which social issues in the Philippines can be addressed by Community journalism. Explain by how and why. 5-10 sentences only.


  • Community Journalism has a chance of solving the spreading and consumption of fake news. If done the right way, Community journalism can help in educating the community about fake news and how to identify it and verify everything that they see online or in real life. It can also be an opportunity to spread knowledge about using social media correctly to avoid not only fake news but scams and phishing online. Fighting the spread and consumption of fake news will be a great opportunity for a community to progress more.
