#ENDTHESTIGMA: HIV and AIDS awareness together with Home of Bamboo and the LGBT+ Brgy. Saluysoy

To raise public awareness about HIV and AIDS, the Home of Bamboo HIV Primary Care Clinic located in Meycauayan City, Bulacan, organized an outreach program on May 1 2024 at the Brgy. Saluysoy covered court together with the “DYOSA NG SALUYSOY TRANSGENDER WOMEN PAGEANT 2024” which attracted guests and audiences eager to participate watching the pageant and learn about HIV and AIDS prevention and care.

Acknowledgments were extended to the LGBTQ+ community and YKP's (Young Key Populations) whose participation underscored their commitment to learning more about HIV and AIDS. Gratitude to Mayor Henry Villarica and City Health Officer Dr. Christian Roque was also given for their outstanding assistance in organizing the program for the City of Meycauayan. The participation of different stakeholders, government officials and health care professionals with the community leaders received special recognition in demonstrating coordinated effort to overcome stigma related to HIV and AIDS.

Conducting events like the Transgender Pageant are great opportunity for communities to stand as one, learning and overcoming stigma to an open door to a society that is more accepting and aware. The organization continued its dedication to action, education and support for HIV and AIDS patients being emphasized by the hashtags #EndTheStigma, #PushBulacan, #PushMeycauayan and #PushHomeofBamboo in their Facebook posts.
