1. Journalism is a narration of life stories. We all have stories to tell that we should be sharing with other people to raise awareness, call for action, and tell stories that televisions and radios do not broadcast. Citizen journalism and community journalism seem alike but they are similarly different. Citizen journalism is when a person uses journalism to raise awareness about a certain issue that affects him as a citizen. He becomes participatory in journalism as he uses it as a medium to tell a story to the world. Meanwhile community journalism is the type of journalism that revolves around a community, a neighborhood or some individual in a certain community. Community journalism helps narrate stories unseen and unheard about an invisible community in our society. Both journalistic approaches are important, especially nowadays when journalism is no longer valued as important by society. With the help of different individuals across every corner, we can tap the people to engage in changing systems, or care about what is currently happening. 2. There is a boycott going on right now with different businesses as they are accused of giving financial support to Israel amidst the conflict against Palestine. Online communities that support Palestine play a huge role with the ongoing boycott campaign as Starbucks and McDonalds are the two most boycotted businesses at this time. It is also the right time to use community journalism to educate and inform people with why such campaigns are happening and to make people across the globe aware of the ongoing war between Palestine and Israel. The media nowadays are giving less information to the people about this ongoing conflict that makes people clueless and ignorant of it. Community journalism will be a great tool to give voice to the less powered people of Gaza, Palestine. By having community journalism, more and more people will try to engage with the issue, and together they can call out the government or institutions to do the right thing. Not only awareness is spread throughout the world but also empathy and humanity. Community journalism's essence is fit with the situation of Palestine's suffering under Israel’s mercilessness.
